Americans are feeling more financially secure with real estate and looking to relocate somewhere ideal, such as Costa Mesa or Newport Beach, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the California Association of REALTORS®. 1.4 million more households moved in 2012 than in 2011.
Consumer confidence in real estate is key, with 54 percent of respondents in the Western U.S. feeling more comfortable with real estate purchases now than at any time in the previous five years. Why are people moving? 50 percent of respondents were simply ‘moving up’ to a better or larger home; 30 percent moved towards what they described as better neighborhoods, and; 21 percent moved relating to their work locations and to reduce the commute.
